My son and I saw the Carolina Hurricanes on the last game of the 2010-'11 season, and enjoyed ourselves greatly. First of all, there was a front lawn "party" before opening that starts around 4:30 or 5, and he really liked it. It had a couple inflatables, and there were plenty of people I knew. We waited in line for about 20 minutes and got in at somewhere near 6 o'clock. Our seats were in section 325, which looks down directly at center ice. Concessions stands were giving away dollar dogs($1 hot dogs), but everything else was over $4, so eating isn't very cheap(like it is at every other sporting event). Now I can tell all of you about the Carolina Hurricanes. The 'canes' are an off/on quality team who can surprise you sometimes. One year(2008 playoffs), they seemed unbeatable and got swept by the penguins in the conference final. The backbones of the canes this year were Erik Cole(for his many game-winning goals), Eric Staal(who is known for always being the team points leader), and Jeff Skinner(the rookie who put up 60 spectacular points). They lost the game that could have propelled them to the playoffs 6-2 to the TB Lightning, but it was a fun experience. Overall, they may not be the best, but they know how to play a good hockey game.
