So Friday 3pm rolled around and I remembered the Goo Goo Dolls were playing in Houston on Sunday. Am I a Goo Goo Dolls fan? Sure. Could my life exist without going to this concert? Sure. So I bought the last 3 pack and had them overnighted to me on Saturday. Glad I did!
This was a GREAT show and it didn't suck that we were on the 2ND ROW, smack dab in the center. Oh, let me backtrack...the opening band was Switchfoot. They rocked the house down. I didn't know who they were but once they started, there were several songs that I recognized from the radio.
Anyways, back to the Goo Goo Dolls...I was really impressed. They played a few new songs that are going to be on the new album coming out on August 31st...and then they played TONS of old good stuff....everything from "Name" to "Slide" to "Broadway" to "Big Machine" to "Iris".
The bass player is definitely a freak and a half but was totally into his craft and worth watching. Here a a few highlights of the show:
Highlight: 2nd row center tickets Lowlight: lead singer eye-balling my girlfriend the whole time Highlight: lead singer teasing my buddy TWICE for being such a dork Lowlight: lead singer eye-balling my chic the whole time Highlight: chic going home with me
So whether you are a Goo Goo Dolls fan or not, if they are coming your way, go see them...you will not be disappointed. Highlight:
