When i first listened to Foster the People's new album "Torches" on itunes - i immediately fell in love with their electronic/alternative style. Not only are the lyrics deep and meaningful, the melody of each and every song is unique and interesting. For first time listeners I recommend "Pumped Up Kicks" and "Helena Beat" - but everyone I have spoken to or introduced the album to, has become a big Foster the People fan, liking each and every track!
It's so hard these days to find new, unique music with our charts being bombarded with Pop and Rap from idolised artists. Its nice to know that those bands going against the norm can make it big time and "save my soul" from such ordinary music. Torches is the most played album on my ipod - up there with the classic rock hits by the Police, Pink Floyd and the Beatles.
All their concerts have sold out in Sydney where I live - i was almost heart broken when i heard such news. As I am moving to Vancouver in a matter of weeks, Im on the look out for any of their concerts in BC or even America - thats how much of a fan I am!
Have officially fallen in love with this album and can't wait for the next instalment. Go out and buy the album now - i guarantee you'll absolutely love it!
