NY Mets/City Field

Date:August 31, 2011
Attended the Mets/Marlins double header on the 29th of August. Had left field corner, second row seats. Great price and the field view was great. City Field certainly has it all over Shea Stadium. Four others joined me and everyone had a great time. Great weather, friendly people at the ballpark. It helped that the Mets won the double header. Getting in and out of the parking lot was much easier than the old stadium. Even though I am a Yankee fan, I would recommend City Field to anyone,

I went to a Mets vs Cardinals game last Summer. We took the 7 train from Manhattan to the Mets-Willets Point station which is directly outside Citi Field.
The exterior of Citi Field is one of the best in baseball, it still looks like a ballpark. Walking into Citi Field there is huge hall setup as a tribute to Jackie Robinson. Lots of great history to see.
The view from our seats was incredible. Albert Pujols was 10 feet away from us in the Cards dugout. The crowd was really into the game and the Mets responded by putting up 10 runs early and cruised to an easy victory. The Mets game experience was one I will always treasure because a game in New York has a special feel - the team, the stadium, the crowd. A NY Mets game is a great event.

Shea stadium was once called home, NOW Citifield takes the title. As an avid Met fan, everyone knows we all have our ups and downs. The debates and politics of the team, is always the best part of the discussion.
People were sad about the change in venue, but once they walked in through the huge Jackie Robinson rotunda, we all stood looking around (including me) like tourists. Even when it was your first time or back for another look, there's always something new to see.
Shea had its perks... but Citifield is AMAZING. even when you get up to get something to eat or drink, you can always see whats going on the field with the NO CONCRETE WALLS to block the way.
Ive been going to Citifield since they opened it up to the public for the first time back in March of 2009. And each time I go back, theres always something new. I did notice the Rum bar, and tried the lobster roll for the first time, oh my word, to die for! I try to go back to the different clubs they offer with each section. The Acela Club, The Ceasars Club and Promenade Clubs are the ones i was fortunate enough to see. Hopefully through the years, ill be able to see the more exclusive clubs.
The INFAMOUS shake shack is always packed, along with the BIG APPLE BREWERY with all different kinds of brewsky's. Fun things for kids to do... raffles and mini-games too!
So many new additions: McFaddens Bar located behind Center Field by the bullpen, is a great place to start for pregame fun.
The Hall of Fame Museum is another new addition to the building, for those hardcore fans and ones just seeing what new things they can learn about The Mets, filled with trophies, rings, and pictures of legends. It connects to the Mets store FILLED with fun things, anywhere from keychains to autographed baseballs.
My experience at Citifield has just begun, and i can begin my experience with the next generation as well. Many, many more years to come.
Shea was once called home. Time to close that chapter and on to bigger and better things... CITIFIELD!
