Browse around Tallahassee for a little while and you will surely see the shirt that simply states, "DOAK". It stands toe to toe with all other great college football stadiums. A traditional bowl, even seats on the 85th row aren't bad (I know from experience). I never missed a home game during my 4 fall semesters at Florida State. I was even present when Pensacola Street (which ran parallell) was closed in order to place a common area and fountain between Doak and Dick Howser Stadium. Now one must circle "Champions Drive" to get around Doak. You should also see the Unconqured Statue that is lit for the week leading to each home game featuring Chief Osceola. If that is impressive, wait until you get inside. Chief Osceola plants his spear, Marching Chiefs feature flaming baton twirlers, and of course the crowd does the Tomahawk chop. These are just a few of the reasons any football fan should trek to Tallahassee once to see a game in Doak Campbell Stadium. Bobby Bowden, although no longer coach, has left his name on the field, a statute outside, and a beautiful stained glass mural in Doak. Celebs like Shaq and alum Burt Reynolds have been known to drop by but I guarantee there is no bigger celebrity in Doak than Coach Bobby Bowden. So go see the house Bobby built. Let the Spirithunters paint your face and be ready to stand, Noles don't sit in Doak Campbell Stadium.
